For generations, The Heatherlea has been part of everyday life in Bangor. From freshly baked bread and morning coffee to celebration cakes, lunches and family favourites, we’ve been baking for our local community for nearly 90 years.
A lot has changed since 1937, but what matters to us hasn’t — good food, freshly made, and a warm welcome.

From Main Street, since 1937
The Heatherlea has called Main Street home since 1937. In the early 1990s, the bakery was taken over by the Getty family, beginning the next chapter of The Heatherlea story.
Since then, Heatherlea has grown beyond Main Street, but the bakery has remained at the heart of the business making the breads, cakes and familiar favourites that generations of local customers have grown up with.
Heatherlea Today
Today, The Heatherlea has three locations across Bangor, with our bakery and coffee shop on Main Street alongside our bakeries in Ballyholme and Church Street.
We’re proud to keep doing what Heatherlea has always done, baking for our local community. While continuing to move forward with great coffee, freshly made lunches, celebration cakes, catering and more.
